Toyota heading up hill hit a pole and rolled onto the driver's side, the pole snapped and landed on the car. Upon arrival the patient was in and out of conciousness. Due to the conditions on scene, 27E was requested and Rescue 534 began setting up their equipment while Engine 531 stretched a precautionary line. Upon confirmation of power off, the car and pole were stabilized with chocks and struts. Both driver and passanger A, B and C posts were cut, the roof was taken off, the patient was stablized and removed. From the time of 'power off' until the patient was out of the car was less than 10 minutes.
Police emergency services responded and operated their O-cutters alongside Glenwood.

Pretty tough just standing there waiting to go to work. But, so long as you can communicate with the occupants and there is no immediate life threat, we, #1 come first.
Even after the power was cut, the main part of the pole was dangling from the 69,000 volt wires on the top of the pole. He happend to blast a 75 foot tall pole with 69,000 volt wires at the top, and 2 transformers. This guy didn't miss a thing, even hit the hydrant that was there. The road remain closed, which is a main thourough fare through town till late the next day."The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it". -T.
