Some Interesting ponts on Iraq
I recieved this in email from another conservative friend of mine. I'm glad Bush said he won't be forced by those bleeding heart liberals in Congress. Nobody likes to see Americans die for any cause but if we go back to A "Fight And Run Away When It Gets Tough" posture I fear that we would be seen as an easier target and invite more attacks.
Some may think it a political statement, but facts are facts. Things that make you think a little
A) There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January. In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.
When some claim that President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following.
B) FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us, Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.
C) Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.
D) John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
E) Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.
F) In the years since terrorists attacked us President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.
Those who are complaining about how long the war is taking should remember these facts. Life has been harder for Americans.
G) It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.
H) We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
I) It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.
J) It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!
Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB!
The Military morale is high!
The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts.
Give me a break. Cindy Sheehan is a traitor to her sons memory. Winning wars is NOT for the faint in heart, nor does it belong to the bureaucrats. Let our military do what they have to in order to win and come home. If not, then our people have fought in vain. Let's not return to the days of the hippies who single handadly threw the our country into the darkest pride vacant days in US history.

Excellent Vic, Just Absolutely Excellent! I agree with everything you said. If I might add one point, let'd stop watchin our boys being slaughtered. It's beginning to look alot like Vietnam........we shouldn't have to lose one more guy over there. Let's stop playing with those rag head mother ####ers and bomb the shit out of them and be done with it.

If we bomb Iraq....we would have thousands of jihading muslims lining up to blow themselves up in U.S. cities.....And in bombing Iraq we would kill thousands of innocent people in the process.

Ryno is correct. It's easy to sit over here and make comments about what should be done, and to arm chair quarterback the actions and occasional lack of action by the powers that be - those in charge of our national defense. However, and without sounding too liberal, simply bombing an entire nation wouldn't amount to anything. Anything more than possibly having other nations attack us, similar to how we might attack a larger nation for attacking/invading a nation a fraction of its size. Not to mention the possibility of suicide bombers and the super elevated risk of terrorism both here on American soil and abroad.

And in the words of my brother, whos an infantryman in the Army...."If we just bombed Iraq, then we wouldent get to see anyone die..." Good reason.
